Hey bea-utiful people!

It’s been a few days I posted anything, just retired from work (till September) so I’ve had a few busy days, filled with outings that I overlapped (as I usually do – hence why I need a PA or diary!!). But Monday was lovely. I’m so proud of London for not failing on us with the lovely sunshine!

So they say (don’t ask cos I don’t know), you shouldn’t wear black in summer as it attracts heat. But I beg to differ (for fashion’s sake anyway). I don’t have many black dresses but come this winter I think it’s a wardrobe staple I’m going to have lots of. Apart from making you look slim, black is such a classic colour (obvs), it goes with absolutely everything and is great to throw on when you have nothing outstanding to wear.

I came across these black beauties at Miss Selfridge and I think they’re great. As simple as they look each dress has its own little character going on. The turtle neck is great for channelling that Kim Kardashian look that’s so hot right now. The bralet waffle dress, with its slight plunge neckline is great for a cocktail party. Or how about the bardot bodycon for that 50’s siren look? My favourite has to be the crochet maxi dress – though not exactly little but hey it’s fashion we make exceptions. For me it’s like two dresses in one – an illusion mini dress underneath covered with lace overlay. I also quite like the waffle dress, which I’d team with a soft waterfall duster coat in blush and a nice pair of black strappy heels. These little black dresses (LBD) are perfect for throwing on – all you need is to jazz up the dress with some cool, elegant or statement accessories for that wow factor.

Which is your favourite from the list, let me know.

Until my next post please share, follow, like and comment…..xxx

  1. I agree black in summer is fab, for me- thats wearing black in warm summer evenings and then accessorizing it with some heavy gold= that summer glam feeling. My fav is the maxi with crochet detailing, like that peekaboo going on!
